Job summary

Capgemini is recruiting a Materials Engineer to support non-conformance activities for Defence & Aerospace projects. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to perform materials assessments on non-conforming components, ensuring compliance with safety-critical standards.

We expect a degree in Materials Engineering (chartered or working towards chartership) and experience in aerospace or similar sectors, with strong communication and collaboration skills. A security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Materials Engineering or similar (chartered or working towards chartership).
• Experience in relevant materials-related employment, preferably in Aerospace or other safety-critical sectors.
• Familiarity with materials used in Aerospace & Defence (metals & alloys, ceramics, polymers) and their manufacturing methods (casting, forging, machining, coating, curing, welding).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build good working relationships across the business.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on non-conformance activities relating to manufacturing, testing and in-service materials support.
• Support a multidisciplinary team to solve complex Defence & Aerospace problems.
• Manage small to medium-size tasks performing materials assessments related to component non-conformance.
