Job summary

Safran Landing Systems – Gloucester (UK) is seeking a Materials Engineer (Supply Chain) to support the Materials & Processes Laboratory and monitor the supply chain for landing gear parts, including hands-on testing.

You will work with steels, aluminium and titanium materials, perform metallography, support supplier audits, and collaborate with engineering and QA to drive material excellence in a global aerospace leader.

Qualifications

• Degree in metallurgy or materials engineering/science.
• Knowledge of steels, titanium and aluminium alloys.
• Experience with metallography, microscopy and materials testing.
• Ability to write technical reports and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the supply chain for landing gear parts.
• Support laboratory testing campaigns and forensic investigations.
• Conduct technical supplier audits with QA involvement.
• Assist with engineering and internal customers on materials topics.
• Visit suppliers as needed to monitor practices and quality.
