Job summary

GKN Aerospace East Cowes seeks an experienced Operations Team Leader to manage a manufacturing team of up to 12 operatives, driving PSQDCC targets through the Lean Operating Model while maintaining a safe and efficient production zone.

You will cover shifts (6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 8am–4.30pm with weekly rotation) and work with the Operations Group Leader to deliver Operational Excellence, daily management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous aerospace/manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
• Experience leading a team of up to 12 operatives.
• Knowledge of Lean, PSQDCC targets and daily management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing manufacturing team.
• Achieve PSQDCC targets via Lean Operating Model deployment.
• Drive Operational Excellence across the area of responsibility.
• Use Go to Gemba problem solving to fix issues within the zone.
• Foster a Great Place To Work culture with continuous improvement.
• Cover shifts (6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 8am–4.30pm) with weekly rotation.
• Collaborate with Group Leader and other Team Leaders on zone goals.
• Ensure daily management and standardised work; uphold health and safety policies.
