Job summary

GE Aerospace is offering a four-year apprentice scheme leading to a BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering with Manufacturing. You will rotate across production, quality, design, materials, tooling and NDT, learning how to translate engineering intent into manufacturable products.

The program combines university study at UWE with hands-on work in ME, developing skills in process definition, PFMEA, lean methods, and data-driven problem solving, while focusing on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 112 UCAS points via 3 A-Levels at grade BBC or above; BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering at grade DMM or above; Equivalent qualification with appropriate Mathematics content.
• Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent (we accept Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths).
• Desirable: understanding of aerospace industry; commitment to personal development and volunteering.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent into manufacturable products by defining process, materials and tooling.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions aligned with technical specifications.
• Generate machine code for CNC machining centres and metrology tools.
• Present data-driven solutions to manufacturing problems using Lean and problem-solving methodologies.
• Contribute to Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost in production decisions.
• Create PFMEAs to support APQP for current and future processes.
