Job summary

GE Aerospace, Dowty Propellers, Gloucestershire, offers a four-year Manufacturing Engineer apprenticeship tied to a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering with Manufacturing from UWE. You'll rotate across production, quality, design, and materials to turn engineering intent into manufacturable products.

You’ll study onsite two days a week and spend time in the workplace to complete EPA and assignments, joining a manufacturing engineering team focused on safety, quality and delivery.

Qualifications

• Mathematics and STEM focus required.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to learn across multiple ME disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Write and improve manufacturing work instructions aligned with specs.
• Generate machine code for CNC and create metrology tooling programs.
• Present data-driven manufacturing solutions using Lean and problem-solving methods.
• Develop production techniques from raw materials to finished goods with SQDC focus.
• Suggest new tooling and fixtures to improve processes.
• Contribute to year-on-year improvements in throughput, yield and defects.
