Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Rotherham to drive development of high-precision manufacturing processes for aerospace components. You will design work-holding solutions, simulate CNC programs in Vericut, and provide shop floor support during prove-outs to ensure process capability.

The role requires CNC programming, CAD/CAM proficiency and a proactive approach to continuous improvement within a highly technical manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Manufacturing Engineering or apprentice-trained equivalent.
• Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Experience with CNC programming and Vericut simulation.
• CAD/CAM experience.
• Previous aerospace or defence sector experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
• A proactive approach and a genuine interest in improving manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Creating and developing manufacturing methods and processes.
• Designing and developing work-holding solutions, including technical drawings.
• Simulating CNC programmes using Vericut.
• Providing shop floor support during new process and product prove-outs.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Producing technical production documentation, including SOPs, tooling sheets and inspection sheets.
• Providing technical support and expertise to the production team.
• Applying knowledge of special processes, heat treatments and coatings.
• Supporting measurement and inspection activities.
• Providing technical support to project and commercial teams.
• Identifying risks, issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
