Job summary

Morson are currently recruiting for an Engineering Project Manager to deliver in-service support projects in the Military Aerospace sector. Based in Bournemouth, you will manage end-to-end projects of significant aircraft base maintenance, leading teams to meet scope, time, cost and quality while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role is a 6-month contract, fully onsite in Bournemouth initially, transitioning to a hybrid remote arrangement after the initial weeks.

Qualifications

• FAA-certified Part 145 experience is desirable but not essential.
• Proven experience managing significant aircraft base maintenance or heavy checks.
• Advanced capability in Microsoft Project, including logic-linked schedules, baselines, dependencies, resources and progress updates.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance, engineering, planning, quality, supply-chain and support teams in a live aircraft-input environment.
• Relevant aviation qualification or equivalent substantial aviation experience.
• PM qualification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP, or willingness to attain one.
• Knowledge of UK CAA/MAA/EASA regulations and safety/quality-management principles.
• Commercial awareness of budgets, quotations, procurement or contract management.
• Analytical and commercially aware with data-driven decision making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from initiation through delivery, transition and closure.
• Define and control project scope, objectives, requirements, deliverables, acceptance criteria and benefits.
• Establish governance, decision forums, reporting routines and assurance activities.
• Develop, baseline and maintain an integrated aircraft base-maintenance schedule in Microsoft Project.
• Own performance against the base-maintenance scope, turnaround time, cost, quality and safety baselines; drive recovery actions.
• Produce schedule updates and recovery scenarios using MS Project.
• Coordinate work-package readiness including task cards, instructions, manpower and tooling.
• Manage input through aircraft induction, inspection, release and return to service.
• Manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and opportunities.
• Maintain project records, forecasts and performance information in project-control systems.
• Lead project reviews and cross-functional meetings, resolving conflicts.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance.
