Job summary

W Talent is working with an established aerospace manufacturer in Nottingham to recruit a Lab Technician. You will perform laboratory testing, material assessment and quality inspections to ensure components meet exacting requirements and industry standards.

The role operates on a 3 on, 3 off shift pattern covering days and nights, offering long-term career opportunities within a specialist engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory testing and quality inspection within manufacturing/aerospace environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proven attention to detail and accuracy in test documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out laboratory testing and inspection of materials and components.
• Undertake first-off, in-process and final quality inspections.
• Assess components against drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
• Record test results accurately and ensure traceability.
• Identify and report non-conformances and support corrective actions.
• Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges).
• Maintain laboratory, inspection and quality documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality to resolve issues.
• Support continuous improvement and promote right-first-time culture.
• Ensure activities align with company procedures.
