Job summary

Averna powered by Spherea is a global engineering and technology group delivering test, quality and validation solutions for complex products. This role designs electrical hardware for bespoke test systems and supports the full lifecycle from concept through commissioning, based primarily in Bournemouth with some travel.

You will work with hardware, software, mechanical and project teams to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions that meet customer requirements and regulatory

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in electronic/electrical/aerospace engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in electrical/electronic hardware design with analogue and digital electronics.
• Experience developing hardware through the engineering lifecycle and selecting/integrating components.
• Ability to produce clear electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and supporting documentation.
• Practical fault-finding and diagnostic skills, including manufacturing and test processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer/system requirements and develop practical hardware solutions.
• Design electrical/electronic hardware for automated and manual test systems; select and integrate instrumentation and control equipment.
• Define interfaces between test system, unit under test and other equipment.
• Produce and maintain specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs and verification documentation.
• Prepare hardware costings and estimates; participate in design reviews.
• Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, maintainability, cost and schedule requirements; manage risks.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, production and project teams through to completion.
• Support verification, validation, factory acceptance testing and customer acceptance.
