Moog Aircraft Group is seeking an apprentice-trained, experienced Gear Grinder Machinist for our facility in Wolverhampton. The role involves setting up and operating CNC gear grinding machines to achieve close tolerances for aerospace components.

Candidates should have over 5 years of gear cutting machine experience (Kapp/Gleason) and be adept with inspection tools, drawings, and quality documentation. BPSS clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or apprentice-trained.
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques and tooling.
• Proficiency in inspection techniques/equipment to meet drawings.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and process improvement.
• Over 5 years of experience on gear cutting machines (Kapp/Gleason).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple CNC gear grinding machines and grinding equipment.
• Perform first-off inspections and complete quality documentation.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and gear data.
• Work in a machine shop environment with precision tooling.
• Utilise precision measurement equipment to verify tolerances.
