Job summary

The role of Engineering Fitter is based at the Cumbernauld site and involves supporting aircraft line and base maintenance with occasional travel to other bases. You will work under Certifying Engineers, following approved data and regulations, maintaining tooling, and contributing to safe, compliant engineering operations.

This position operates on a 28-day rotating shift with 10-hour days, requiring flexibility to travel to other bases as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in aircraft maintenance or aerospace engineering.
• Practical fitting skills and understanding of maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of approved maintenance data and aviation regulations.
• Ability to identify and report aircraft defects accurately.
• Willingness to work a 28-day rotating shift pattern, including occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Support line and base aircraft maintenance at Cumbernauld and other approved locations.
• Assist Certifying Engineers with maintenance tasks per data and regs.
• Complete tasks safely and according to policies and authorisations.
• Identify and document aircraft defects after debriefs with crew.
• Maintain tooling and support equipment in good condition.
• Carry out handling, refuelling and cleaning activities as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
• Provide general engineering and departmental support.
