Job summary

Line Up Aviation is recruiting Skilled and Semi-Skilled Aircraft Fitters for a major client at the Filton site, starting January. You will join the Build Production section and work on various aircrafts, following engineering drawings and instructions. The role is fully onsite with a 12-month contract and potential extension; pay is 25.62–28.82 per hour via Umbrella. Experience and appropriate aerospace qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in fitter/assembly role within aviation.
• Aerospace/Engineering apprenticeship required.
• City & Guilds Level 2 / NVQ Level 2+ or equivalent.
• Strong health and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and instructions.
• Complete tasks to required standards.
• Use power tools for drilling, shimming and sealing.
• Obtain 1st party certification after completing relevant courses.
• Occasionally work in confined spaces (tank work) with restricted wing access.

We are working alongside the world's largest aircraft manufacturer, who are looking for both Skilled and Semi-Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join the team at their renowned site in Filton from January. You'll be joining the team within the Build Production section to work on various aircrafts.

Mon-Thurs 6.30am-3.45pm, 12 months contract with likely extension

Responsibilities

• Work from engineering instructions and understand Aircraft Drawings
• Complete tasks to the required standards
• General tasks include the use of power tools for drilling, shimming, and sealing
• 1st party certification will be required following successful completion of the relevant courses
• You may need to work in a confined space (tank work), which includes restricted and physically demanding wing access and egress through oval shaped manholes

Requirements

• Previous work experience in a fitter/assembly operator role within aviation
• Aerospace or Engineering Full Apprenticeship (Skilled)
• Indenture and City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC or Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2, 3, Key Skills level 2 and City & Guilds Level 2/BTEC ONC in a recognised engineering field (Skilled)
• Self-motivation with good communication skills
• An ability to work alone or as part of a team
• An openness to continuous improvement processes and new ways of working
• Knowledge and a high regard for Health and Safety standards
