Job summary

Airbus at Filton is seeking Skilled & Semi-Skilled Aircraft Fitters for a 12-month contract on-site. You will fit and assemble components on Airbus aircraft, including the A400M, following drawings and engineering instructions.

Successful candidates join a hands-on production team with potential for extension into a permanent role. BPSS+ clearance is required; IR35 status is Inside. A four-day Monday-to-Thursday pattern and paid overtime are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience using hand tools in an engineering/fitter role.
• Experience as fitter/assembly operator with ability to read instructions and drawings.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team with good communication.
• Strong focus on Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Willingness to engage in continuous improvement and adopt new ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and instructions to guide tasks.
• Carry out fitting and assembly to required standards.
• Use hand and power tools for drilling, shimming, sealing.
• Work in the Build Production environment on Airbus aircraft.
• Complete required courses to achieve 1st party certification if needed.
• Maintain high Health & Safety standards and work safely.
