Job summary

Guidant Global is recruiting Skilled Aircraft Fitters for Airbus at Filton. This on-site role involves precision assembly of advanced aircraft components within a safety‑critical environment.

You will read technical drawings, perform drilling, shimming and sealing, and use hand and power tools while adhering to strict quality standards. 12‑month contracts with training and potential extension are available.

Qualifications

• Must have completed full engineering apprenticeship and NVQ Level 2 & Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
• Time‑served or work‑based apprenticeship with formal certification.
• Proof of qualifications must be provided at application stage.

Responsibilities

Monday-Thursday 6:30am - 3:45pm

About the Opportunity

Guidant Global is partnering with Airbus, a global leader in aerospace innovation, to recruit multiple Skilled Aircraft Fitters at their Filton site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world‑class manufacturing environment, contributing directly to the build and assembly of advanced commercial and military aircraft. You'll play a key role within the Build Production team, working on high‑profile aircraft programmes in a safety‑critical environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Skilled Aircraft Fitter, you'll be responsible for delivering precision assembly work to the highest aerospace standards.

• Working from detailed engineering instructions and aircraft drawings
• Carrying out assembly tasks including drilling, shimming and sealing
• Using hand and power tools to complete complex build activities
• Ensuring all work meets stringent quality and safety requirements
• Completing training to achieve 1st party certification
• Working in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and at height
• Supporting continuous improvement and contributing to team objectives

Essential Qualifications & Experience (Key Requirement)

• Completed full engineering apprenticeship (mandatory)
• NVQ Level 2 AND Level 3 in an engineering discipline (or equivalent certification)
• Time‑served or work‑based apprenticeship with formal certification
• Proof of qualifications must be provided at application stage

In addition, you must have:

• Proven experience in a fitter / assembly / manufacturing role
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Hands‑on experience using hand and power tools
• A strong commitment to health and safety standards
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfort working in confined spaces and at height

Please note: Applications without the required apprenticeship and NVQ Level 2 & 3 qualifications will not be considered.
