Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Semi-Skilled / Skilled Fitter for our Llay, Wrexham site. The role is full time, permanent, 42 hours per week with a shift pattern including days and nights, and a unionised site working with Unite the Union.

You will assemble aircraft components to customer specifications and ensure quality and cost targets. The ideal candidate has NVQ level 3 in mechanical manufacturing engineering (fitting/assembly), at least 3 years’ experience, and the ability to

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering- Fitting and Assembly or equivalent.
• 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Able to identify components and select the correct tooling/jigging media per routing and engineering drawings.
• GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English
• Good verbal and written communication
• There is a physical element to the role lifting parts to/from a work area bench

Responsibilities

• Ensure tooling is present and acceptable before use and report issues.
• Maintain documentation and ensure correct assembly per drawings and specs.
• Complete related operational documentation.
• Use and mix sealants per traceability and date requirements.
• Ensure parts are cleaned and of acceptable standard before inspection.
• Identify deviations and seek guidance from approved personnel to rectify issues.
• Report non-conformances using NCR forms and escalate as needed.
• Identify improvements in assembly processes and ensure measuring equipment is calibrated.
