Job summary

BAE Systems, Samlesbury, Lancashire, is seeking an Engineering Lecturer to deliver teaching across Aeronautical Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing programmes. Hybrid/flexible working arrangements apply with occasional travel to Barrow-in-Furness and Portsmouth when required.

You will contribute to curriculum planning, assess learner progress and support apprentices in developing knowledge, skills and behaviours through classroom and blended learning approaches.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering industry experience within aerospace or manufacturing.
• Experience mentoring and supporting apprentices in a workplace.
• Teaching qualification and experience delivering blended learning via a VLE; BTEC Engineering up to Level 4 would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across HNC Engineering and Level 3 Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing programmes.
• Support the planning, delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of the curriculum, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Prepare, assess and provide timely, constructive feedback on learner work to support achievement and progression.
• Integrate English and Mathematics skills into teaching and learning activities where appropriate.
• Conduct regular apprentice reviews, setting meaningful targets and supporting the development of skills, knowledge and behaviours.
• Monitor apprentice progress, maintaining accurate records and producing timely reports to support learner success and performance improvement.
• Analyse learner data to identify trends, monitor performance and implement effective interventions where required.
• Contribute to apprentice recruitment activities, including interviews, enrolment, induction events, open days and learner engagement activities.
• Develop and deliver inclusive blended learning using Canvas and other digital learning technologies to enhance the learner experience.
• Promote innovation and best practice in teaching, learning and assessment to continually improve learning outcomes.
