Job summary

Unify is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join its engineering team and develop robust, deterministic embedded software across aerospace and defence applications. You will work across the full lifecycle from architecture and interfaces to automated testing, CI/CD and deployment, with responsibilities spanning design, integration and formal accreditation support.

Qualifications

  • Strong embedded C/C++ and/or Rust development skills.
  • Experience developing software for safety-critical or highly regulated systems, such as aerospace, automotive, medical or similar environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eligibility to obtain UK SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Define embedded software architectures in collaboration with the wider engineering team.
  • Develop high-performance, deterministic and well-tested embedded software.
  • Define interfaces between software components, including APIs and communications protocols.
  • Develop and improve continuous integration, automated testing and software release infrastructure.
  • Support the development of software towards formal accreditation and certification.
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept and prototyping through to deployment.
