Job summary

Safran Seats, a premier designer and manufacturer of premium aircraft seating, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in South Wales. You will join the Electrical Design Department in Cwmbran, delivering electrical installation models and 3D harness drawings for complex seat systems.

Responsibilities include designing and validating electrical systems, using CATIA V5 and PLM, performing design reviews, and collaborating with customers, suppliers and OEMs to ensure compliant, integrated

Qualifications

Ideally qualified to a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Alternatively, a HNC / HND or equivalent qualification as part of an Electrical Apprenticeship.
Experience using 3D CAD & AutoCAD electrical software packages or equivalent.
Understanding of tolerances and manufacturing processes, and OEM installation requirements.
Ability to read design drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

Based in Cwmbran, South Wales, within the Electrical Design Department.
Produce electrical installation models and detail drawings.
Use various software packages for new product designs meeting requirements.
3D harness design, electrical schematics and block diagrams.
Design and integration of electrical systems within aircraft seats to meet requirements.
Generate 2D/3D electrical installation and systems designs using CATIA V5 and PLM software.
Participate in Design Reviews during the New Product Introduction process.
Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers & OEMs.
Ensure integration of each design element within the product.
Participate in product validation via prototyping and tests.
Follow and contribute to Best Practice guidelines.
Be prepared for tasks outside normal duties as needed.
