Job summary
Safran Seats is seeking a Configuration Manager to lead the CMS, ensuring control, traceability and governance of product configurations across lifecycles. You will align CMS with group processes and regulatory standards, drive change control boards, and standardise practices with the engineering teams in Wales and across the UK.
You will also support PLM deployments (Windchill), report on CMS KPIs, and implement improvements to reduce non-value-added engineering changes while strengthening
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Structural Engineering or equivalent HNC/HND.
- CMII Level 6 certification preferred.
- Experience with CATIA V5 or similar PLM tools.
- Aerospace or automotive sector experience; DMU knowledge.
- Familiarity with Boeing and Airbus specifications and requirements.
- Strong release and change-control experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and improve the CMS to meet governance and KPI requirements.
- Own and optimise the engineering change control process with clear responsibilities and CCBs.
- Drive standardisation of configuration and change practices across groups.
- Produce and maintain configuration data and reports for lifecycle needs.
- Assess changes in business and industry requirements and implement CMS improvements.
- Collaborate with Change and Programme Management to embed configuration control.
- Support Windchill PLM deployment and optimisation.
- Analyse CMS performance and drive efficiency gains.
