GKN Aerospace Global Technology Centre in Bristol is offering year-in-industry internships for a 12-month placement starting August/September 2027. You will join the Advanced Composite Processing Methods team to work on real aerospace projects, gaining hands-on experience across composites, manufacturing, and data-driven tasks.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an undergrad degree in aerospace/mechanical/materials/composites, with basic knowledge of composites, ability to read drawings, and data

Qualifications

• Must be studying towards an undergraduate degree in Aerospace/Mechanical/Materials/Composites or related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Competency in data analysis and handling (Excel, database tools, or Power BI advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing, testing and evaluating composite manufacturing processes.
• Support material trials, process validation and data collection.
• Maintain and release technical documents and reports.
• Develop MIS tools, dashboards and project trackers.
• Support document control and configuration management.
• Assist with engineering tasks, technical analysis and prototype builds.
• Work with design, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams.
• Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
