Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Skilled Mechanical Coil Winder to manufacture electrical coils and windings, reading engineering drawings, and testing Life Support and Environmental Control Systems components to exacting aerospace standards.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will contribute to quality, safety, and on-time delivery while collaborating with engineers and production teams to resolve challenges and implement lean improvements.

Qualifications

• Mechanical fitting, coil winding, or precision assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical instructions, and specifications.
• Understanding of quality standards and working within controlled manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good level of computer literacy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Experience in aerospace, defence or regulated sectors is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture electrical coils and windings accurately, safely, and efficiently.
• Produce components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Carry out mechanical fitting and testing of Life Support and Environmental Control Systems equipment.
• Complete assembly and testing activities to aerospace quality standards.
• Undertake Operator Control of Quality (OCQ), including quality stamping and verification of completed work to Honeywell and customer requirements.
• Ensure products meet all applicable quality, customer, and regulatory standards.
• Achieve on-time delivery targets by completing work to schedule and required quality levels.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Maintain a safe working environment and consistently adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
