Job summary

Gregory Martin International is seeking a CNC Miller Setter Operator near Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The role involves programming, setting and running 3-4 axis CNC mills (Bridgeport/Heidenhain and Haas/Fanuc), with aerospace experience and high-tolerance part work.

You will read engineering drawings, measure using precision tooling, and work with aluminium, stainless steel and Inconel. A 37-hour week, competitive benefits including pension, Health Cash Plan and Life Assurance apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace milling and high-tolerance parts.
• Ability to program, set and run CNC mills.
• Desirable: Run, set 1st and 2nd ops machining tools.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong measurement skills using varied tooling.
• Team player and communicate with colleagues to implement company policies.
• Attention to detail, including numeracy and quality performance.

Responsibilities

• Set and Run 1st Operations CNC Mills with programming using 3-4 axis.
• Able to set and Run CNC machines including fixed and sliding heads, lathes and bar feeders.
• Support as required with set and run of 2nd Operations machinery safely.
• Work with materials such as aluminium, stainless steels and Inconel.
• Coordinate programming and setting activities with other setters.
• Carry out first-off and job run inspection of 2nd Op machine parts.
• Carry out first-off buddy checks and job run inspection of 1st and 2nd operations parts.
• Reduce scrap/rework and report back efficiencies to Production Manager.
• Maintain machine efficiency to meet On Time Deliveries and KPIs.
• Manufacture high-quality products in line with standards and procedures.
