Job summary

THOMAS Professional in Bristol is seeking an experienced Aerospace Assembly Fitter to join a precision engineering environment. You will assemble, fit and finish components to drawings and approved instructions, using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.

Key responsibilities include inspection, documentation, and maintaining traceability throughout assembly while adhering to safety, quality, and TPM procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in assembly/fitting or precision engineering.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work from instructions.
• Proficient with hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive and willing to learn.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit aerospace components to drawings and specs.
• Use hand tools, measuring equipment, fixtures and aids.
• Carry out marking, serration, varnishing and deburring.
• Inspect own work with precision measuring tools.
• Complete production, inspection and quality documentation.
• Maintain full product traceability through assembly.
• Identify and report non-conforming components.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow FOD procedures.
• Complete TPM-related maintenance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet targets while upholding quality.
• Follow health, safety and company procedures.

Location: Bristol

Salary: £36,000-£40,000 DOE

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Shift: Double Day Shift

We are recruiting an experienced Aerospace Assembly Fitter to join an established engineering business in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on precision aerospace components and assemblies within a quality-focused manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for assembling, fitting and finishing components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and approved work instructions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit aerospace components to engineering drawings and specifications
• Use hand tools, measuring equipment, fixtures and assembly aids
• Carry out processes including part marking, serration, varnishing and deburring
• Inspect your own work using precision measuring equipment
• Complete production, inspection and quality documentation accurately
• Maintain full product traceability throughout the assembly process
• Identify and report non-conforming components or discrepancies in drawings
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow FOD-prevention procedures
• Complete routine maintenance in line with TPM requirements
• Work closely with colleagues to achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards
• Follow all health and safety, quality and company procedures

Skills And Experience

• Previous assembly, fitting or precision engineering experience
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and instructions
• Confident using hand tools and precision measuring equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Proactive approach with a willingness to learn
• Aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing experience would be advantageous
