Job summary

Aston Martin Formula One Team is seeking a Design Engineer for Aerodynamic Surfacing at Silverstone. You will turn aerodynamic concepts into precise surface models supporting CFD, wind tunnel tests and race car development.

You will collaborate with Aerodynamicists and engineering specialists to deliver high-quality geometry and contribute to development strategies, while aligning with FIA regulations and project deadlines.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong 3D CAD and surface modelling skills, ideally CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver aerodynamic surfacing projects from concept through to release, including modelling, validation and documentation.
• Develop accurate, high-quality surface models for CFD, wind tunnel testing and race car application.
• Work closely with Aerodynamicists to develop design concepts and contribute to aerodynamic development strategies.
• Support aero development programmes, identifying opportunities to improve model quality, accuracy and test efficiency.
• Contribute to parametric modelling strategies, surfacing methodologies and continuous improvement of design tools and workflows.
• Identify technical risks and design opportunities, communicating progress and solutions to senior designers.
• Apply sound engineering judgement to ensure designs meet technical requirements, quality standards and programme deadlines.
