Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking an Aerodynamic AI Engineer to develop and deploy AI/ML models for CFD data analysis, build surrogate models, and create AI-driven mesh generation tools for aerodynamic applications.

The role collaborates closely with aerodynamicists and CFD engineers to translate requirements into robust AI solutions, while staying current with advances in AI for CFD and maintaining high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing and deploying AI/ML models for engineering applications.
• Strong Python experience with PyTorch.
• Understanding of computational geometry and mesh generation concepts.
• Experience with statistical analysis and anomaly detection on large scientific datasets.
• Strong software engineering practices including CI/CD.
• Excellent cross-disciplinary communication skills for engineering audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI models for CFD data analysis to support aerodynamic decisions.
• Build surrogate models for aerodynamic predictions focusing on fluid dynamics.
• Create AI-driven mesh generation and automated geometry tools for aerodynamics.
• Analyze wind tunnel data, detect drift/anomalies, and perform statistical quality checks.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure code quality across AI applications.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics and CFD engineers to translate requirements into AI solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging AI technologies relevant to CFD and aerodynamics.
• Identify AI-driven opportunities to improve development efficiency within cost cap constraints.
