We're seeking an Advocate to handle a caseload centered around advocacy in Coroner’s Court. Associated advice related to CQC and professional regulatory advice will also be required.

The team plays an important role in DACB's broader Health practice, which is widely recognised as the leading strategic, commercial and regulatory legal adviser to the health and social care sector in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle a predominantly inquest-based workload as an advocate with an appropriate level of supervision.
• Act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate to experience.
• Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, courts, and other stakeholders.
• Support marketing and business development activities, including attending marketing events and client training.
• Develop awareness of the firm’s other services and build effective internal and external networks.
• Handle confidential information in line with data security protocols.
• Ensure compliance with DAC Beachcroft protocols on billing and credit control, maintaining high financial management standards for own files.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We seek an Advocate with an interest or experience in this practice area or related fields. Candidates are not required to cover all aspects of the team's work but should demonstrate a keen interest in inquest work and enthusiasm to develop relevant skills and knowledge.

• Enthusiastic and committed to inquest advocacy, with an interest in health and social care regulation, mental health law, medical treatment, and information governance.
• Advocacy experience is preferred.
• Excellent relationship and client handling skills, with professionalism in day-to-day client interactions.
• Highly motivated, committed to delivering excellent client service.
• Ability to adopt a commercial perspective on legal issues.
• Team-oriented, willing to share knowledge and support colleagues.
