Job summary

Royal British Legion is seeking an Advocacy and Complex Needs Advisor to support veterans across Staffordshire and Shropshire, delivering holistic, person-centred help and coordinating with partner services to improve safety and wellbeing.

You will visit beneficiaries at home, develop tailored plans, and advocate for access to housing, mental health and addiction services while ensuring case records are kept up to date. A DBS check is required, and travel across the region is expected.

Qualifications

• DBS check Enhanced level is required as part of pre-employment checks.
• Must live within the Staffordshire or Shropshire area and be able to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Complete effective and efficient case management of circa 20 complex beneficiary cases; ensure records are maintained and up to date.
• Complete home visits to assess needs, build relationships, and provide practical, person-centred support.
• Develop a clear, person-centred support and action plan with beneficiaries, identifying priorities.
• Provide specialist advice and advocacy, identify appropriate statutory and external services, and support referrals.
• Collaborate with beneficiaries and partner agencies to coordinate support around priorities and offer practical and motivational support.
