Job summary

Altrad is seeking experienced Welders to join the Montrose team, working under NAECI with lodge and travel paid where applicable. You will weld safety-critical components and high-integrity pipework, read drawings and procedures, and ensure quality with rigorous safety practices.

Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 3 in Welding or equivalent, ISO 9606/ASME IX qualifications, and at least two years of production welding experience in relevant sectors. TIG/MMA/FCAW proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Welding or equivalent certification.
• Completed a recognised Welding Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• ISO 9606, ASME IX or equivalent welding qualifications.
• CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent site safety certification.
• IOSH Managing Safely is desirable.
• Minimum two years' experience as a production welder.
• Experience welding high-integrity pipework and safety-critical components.
• Proficient in TIG, MMA and FCAW welding processes.
• Experience with large bore and small bore pipework.
• Desirable sector experience: oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation or nuclear.

Responsibilities

• Carry out welding on safety-critical components and high-integrity pipework.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Prepare materials, consumables and equipment with safety in mind.
• Set up welding equipment and follow approved procedures.
• Perform TIG, MMA and FCAW welding on various materials and pipework systems.
• Inspect welds and identify defects, taking corrective action where needed.
• Support testing, quality documentation and final joint inspections.
• Comply with permits to work, risk assessments and site procedures.
• Guide and support trainee welders as required.
