Job summary

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre in Newport Pagnell is recruiting for an advanced urology nurse practitioner to join our practice in the Queens Avenue building. This part-time role is 16 hours per week, working Tuesday and Wednesday, providing autonomous assessment and management of urological conditions within a primary care setting with direct referrals as appropriate.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, undertake diagnostic tests, and ensure cost-effective, evidence-based service

Qualifications

• Professional registration with NMC, HCPC or GPhC.
• Post-graduate qualification in urology or related specialty, or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of on-going CPD.
• Advanced clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to perform in stressful and complex situations.
• Flexibility in attitude and behaviour.
• Ability to inspire and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake autonomous advanced nursing practice delivering holistic care for urological conditions.
• Triage referrals to the service and manage assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Work with multidisciplinary team and make direct referrals as needed.
• Undertake and interpret a range of diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Adhere to professional guidelines and practice policies.

About the Role

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is recruiting for an advanced urology nurse practitioner to join our practice the Queens Avenue building in Newport Pagnell. This position is offered on a part-time basis, of 16 hours per week, working Tuesday and Wednesday.

The successful candidate will act as an autonomous practitioner working independently and in conjunction with other healthcare professionals to provide assessment, treatment and management of patients with urological conditions within a primary care setting initiating direct referrals as appropriate.

The post-holder will:

• Undertake clinical nursing practice at an advanced level using expert knowledge and clinical skills to deliver holistic care.
• Triage referrals received to the service.
• Assess, diagnose and recommend treatment.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and make appropriate direct referrals if indicated.
• Undertake and interpret a range of diagnostic tests and clinical procedures.
• Work within professional guidelines and codes of conduct.
• Work within all relevant practice policies and procedure guidelines.
• Ensure cost effective, evidence based service provision.
• Counsel and support patients.
