Job summary

Eaton Wimborne in Dorset leads aerospace fuel systems and related technologies. The role provides QA leadership across the New Product Introduction lifecycle, ensuring customer requirements are met and AS9145/APQP standards are followed.

You will drive quality plans, oversee design governance, and support production readiness with rigorous audits. You will mentor the team, lead continuous improvement efforts, and ensure delivery of conforming products while upholding airworthiness and compliance

Qualifications

• Engineer with HND/HNC or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a complex technically demanding design environment.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, Part 21G, Part 145, DAOS.
• Proficient in AS9145, APQP, PPAP, 8D, PFMEA, MSA and Control Plan.
• Experience in leading and managing teams.

Responsibilities

• Quality authority within the New Product Introduction lifecycle from bid through to delivery of 1st production build.
• Act as the voice of the Customer to ensure the agreed requirements are met.
• Drive APQP activities to ensure RFT product build.
• Act as Quality focal within Design Teams delivering Quality solutions.
• Governance and oversight of Design Projects through the development process.
• Design Quality Support to/ investigations and improvement projects.
• Ensuring Quality plans are implemented and translated into robust production process controls.
• Airworthiness signatories to support DDP release.
• Manage and host Product Development auditing activities.
• Mentoring of the team including Personal Development Plans and succession planning.

What You’ll Do

• Quality authority within the New Product Introduction lifecycle from bid through to delivery of 1st production build.
• Act as the voice of the Customer to ensure the agreed requirements are met.
• Drive APQP activities to ensure RFT product build.
• Act as Quality focal within Design Teams delivering Quality solutions.
• AS9145 Advanced Part Quality Planning leadership and implementation, including embedment of EZDP program principles.
• Governance and oversight of Design Projects through the development process.
• Design Quality Support to technically complex investigations / improvement projects.
• Ensuring Quality plans are implemented and translated into robust production process controls.
• Engineering design data approvals; drawings, PATs, Design Specs.
• Airworthiness signatories to support DDP release.
• Change Control integrity – CRB attendance and engagement.
• Manage and host Product Development auditing activities.
• Determination and implementation of Quality improvement initiatives within development lifecycle.
• Co‑operate with management to meet the employer’s legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
• Provide support and mentoring of the team as required including Personal Development Plans and succession planning.

Qualifications

• Engineer – HND/HNC or equivalent experience
• Worked within a complex technically demanding design environment
• Good working knowledge of Quality Standards such as AS9100, Part 21G, Part 145, DAOS
• Good working knowledge of AS9145, APQP, PPAP, 8D, FAIR, PFMEA, MSA, Control Plan.
• Experience in managing and leading teams.
