Advanced Quality Engineer: Automotive New Model Launch

Job summary

Adient is seeking an Engineer Advanced Quality in Liverpool to lead quality deliverables for New Model launches. You will drive APQP/PPAP activities, ensure CCs are controlled, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to meet customer requirements.

The role requires a strong quality engineering background in automotive manufacturing, IATF16949 knowledge, and willingness to travel. Fluency in English is essential and travel is expected.

Qualifications

• BSc / BEng degree is required or equivalent experience.
• Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including minimum IATF16949.
• Continuous Improvement, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control plans, DOE and SPC.
• Minimum 4 years in the Automotive Industry.
• Minimum 2 years in Quality area.
• Knowledge of the AIAG Quality Manuals (APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA etc)
• Manufacturing Quality system experience and customer communication activities
• Certification in Quality Engineering a plus.
• Lead or Internal auditor training to IATF16949 (TS16949) desirable
• Fluent English
• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Advanced Quality Requirements are met for New Model Launches per Adient PLUS.
• Prepare Control Plans for Prototype, Pre-Production and Production.
• Complete Appearance Manual to Customer Standards.
• Validate gauging for production usage.
• Evaluate all Measurement and Capability data.
• Ensure IMDS compliance across BOM items.
• Conduct APQP activities to achieve Supplier PSW Approval.
• Ensure suppliers conduct DVP&R for PPAP.
• Coordinate Grain Go and Colour Harmony events with customer/supplier for component approval.
• Obtain Supplier PPAP Approval.
• Collaborate with Adient departments to compile Customer PPAP.
• Communicate with Customer to obtain necessary approvals.
• Customer PSW Approval.
• Be part of the Simultaneous Development Team and report Quality deliverables.
• Ensure Customer documentation for each Build Phase; liaise with JIT for resources.
• Provide full support at the JIT Plant during each New Model build phase with QA deliverables.
• Conduct Supplier Visits to verify APQP status and ensure supplier processes are approved.
• Ensure Adient CCSC is conducted to control CCs from DFMEA to Poka Yoke.
• Support issue resolution using Adient problem solving methods (8D, PSD, Kepner-Tregoe).
• Ensure Quality activities comply with BOS, IATF16949 and customer requirements.
• Present Quality Project status at LRRs and External Reviews.
