Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust's Ultrasound Department at Yeovil Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer to join a supportive, patient-focused team. The role covers obstetric, gynaecological and general ultrasound examinations across acute and community settings with autonomous reporting.

You will perform a wide range of scans, provide expert diagnostic reports, mentor students and colleagues, contribute to service development and partake in weekend and Bank Holiday sessions.

Qualifications

• Must have obstetric experience.
• UK professional registration with NHS.
• Evidence of post-qualification ultrasound experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and report a broad range of ultrasound examinations including general abdominal, obstetric and gynaecological, foetal anomaly scanning, nuchal screening, neonatal hips, DVT, carotid, testicular and MSK.
• Provide expert diagnostic reports and recommendations to clinicians.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centred care, including in sensitive and complex situations.
• Support and mentor students, junior colleagues and multidisciplinary team members.
• Contribute to service development, audit, quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
• Participate in weekend and Bank Holiday ultrasound services.
