Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust's Ultrasound Department at Yeovil Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer to deliver high-quality ultrasound services. The role involves independent reporting across obstetric, gynecological and general exams, influencing patient care through expert imaging and clinical decision-making.

You will collaborate with radiologists, obstetricians and midwives, contribute to fetal anomaly screening, and participate in teaching, supervision and service

Qualifications

• Independently perform and report a wide range of ultrasound examinations.
• Obstetric, gynecological and general ultrasound scanning.
• Contribute to fetal anomaly screening services.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and report a wide range of ultrasound examinations.
• Undertake obstetric, gynecological and general medical ultrasound scanning.
• Contribute to fetal anomaly screening services.
• Communicate complex and sensitive information to patients with empathy and professionalism.
• Provide specialist advice to clinicians regarding imaging findings and investigations.
• Support day-to-day running of the ultrasound service.
• Participate in teaching, mentoring and supervision of students and colleagues.
• Support service improvement, audit activities and departmental development.
• Participate in weekend and Bank Holiday ultrasound services as required.
