Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council's Newark Family Support and Safeguarding Team seeks an Advanced Practitioner to provide practice leadership for complex children and family cases, ensuring high-quality assessments, planning and interventions.

You will mentor colleagues, supervise casework, and collaborate with Team Managers to sustain safeguarding outcomes, while maintaining a flexible hybrid working pattern and a 37-hour week on a fixed-term 12-month contract.

Qualifications

• Recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in child and family statutory social work.
• Experience in supervising or mentoring others, with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrable expertise in complex casework and assessments, including court-related assessments.

Responsibilities

• Leading with Love: Provide practice leadership, mentoring, and coaching to colleagues, especially those who are alternatively qualified.
• Case Management Champion: Hold a small caseload of complex cases, ensuring effective assessment and intervention.
• Team Support: Assist in the allocation of work and identify development needs across the team.
• Quality Assurance: Contribute to maintaining high standards of practice and safeguarding.
• Collaborative Care: Work closely with Team Managers to provide operational support and drive continuous improvement.
