Job description

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to take on a dual role combining education and training with advanced clinical practice in our Community Treatment Teams (CTTs) to improve medicines optimisation, enhance patient safety and provide a patient-centred care via a clinical practitioner role within a community treatment team.

You Will
  • Support the Lead Pharmacist for Research and Workforce Development in overseeing education and training across undergraduate, foundation, and post-registration programmes.
  • Manage rotational and multisector placements, ensuring quality and continuity.
  • Lead on the annual NHSE foundation year training plan submissions, deliver in-house and regional shared learning sessions, and support professional development for pharmacists, trainees, and pharmacy technicians.
  • Be responsible for the undergraduate MPharm placements in close partnership with our local university pharmacy schools - coordinating resources, supporting students and mentors, delivering pre-placement sessions, and acting on feedback to continually innovate placement delivery along with support for placement timetabling, and assisting with work experience recruitment alongside the specialist technician.
  • Drive the development of pharmacy education and training, identifying workforce implications of service changes and embedding effective support across the department and keeping staff informed of training developments.
  • Provide advanced clinical pharmacy practice to a Community Treatment Team, delivering specialist medication advice, reviews, and optimisation, independent prescribing (where applicable), and direct patient care through collaborative, shared decision-making with the team and external partners.
