Job summary

The post is based at Birmingham Children's Hospital, within the OI clinics and Physiotherapy Department, covering wards and community settings as required.

The multidisciplinary team delivers holistic care, adheres to national standards, and supports research. The post holder will educate and supervise physiotherapy staff and other professionals, including schools, across a wider network.

Travel to outreach clinics and NHS trusts may be required as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• To provide physiotherapy input to children with Metabolic Bone Disease particularly Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) and work within a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
• To organise, co-ordinate and deliver a Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy service to out-patients, inpatients, in the community and at outreach clinic's.
• To provide education, training and practical supervision to Physiotherapy and other professional staff in and out of the Trust. This will include providing specialist advice and support to paediatric physiotherapists across the region and within nurseries and schools.
