Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner for flexible regional primary care sessions across Thirsk. This role offers autonomous ANP-led clinics with full clinical control within established primary care settings.

You will perform advanced assessments, manage same-day presentations, and provide safe prescribing within your scope. Flexible weekday, evening and weekend bookings are available, with ad-hoc or regular ongoing sessions across GP and community services.

Qualifications

• Level 7 Advanced Practice qualification is required.
• Independent Prescribing (V300) is required.
• Experience in GP, urgent care or community settings is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and communication skills are essential.
• Confidence working autonomously in new environments is important.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Running autonomous ANP-led clinics within primary care settings.
• Managing acute, undifferentiated and minor illness presentations.
• Conducting telephone and face-to-face triage.
• Prescribing safely within scope of competence.
• Reviewing results and handling routine follow-up actions.
• Recording accurate clinical notes within the clinic’s digital systems.
