Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Trainee ANP to join our established ANP team across the Initial Assessment Unit (IAU), Acute Receiving Units (ARU3 & ARU5), Rapid Access and Acute Care (RAaC) and the Same Day Urgent Care Centre (SDUCC) at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of, or working towards, a Master’s level qualification in Advanced Practice.
• Demonstrable competence in clinical assessment, clinical reasoning, diagnostics, and decision-making.
• Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (or willingness to work towards).

Responsibilities

• Take and record a patient’s history including medical, family and social history.
• Conducts a comprehensive clinical examination and mental health assessment.
• Screen patients for disease using clinical findings and tests.
• Make diagnostic decisions based on investigations and findings.
• Prescribe treatment including medications as a Non-medical Prescriber.
• Formulate action plans for treatment and discharge planning.
