Highlands Surgery in Leigh-on-Sea are looking for an advanced nurse practitioner to join us on a permanent basis. We value teamwork, mutual support and a friendly working environment. We have been a successful forward-thinking GP practice in Leigh-On-Sea, Essex for decades. Our team has a wide skill mix and we would like a nurse practitioner to join our team to help us continue to drive our service further forward. We are always looking to build our expertise and introduce innovations into the practice that will enhance the service we offer. We are a training practice with all Partners being approved trainers.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic nurse practitioner to join the team who will support us in continuing to drive innovation and quality care.

Main duties of the job
  • Be responsible for attending to patients who wish to be seen by a health care professional
  • Diagnose and treat patients presenting with minor illness
  • Consult and advise patients of their continuing medical and nursing needs
  • Provide assessment, screening treatment services and health education advice.
About us

We are a forward-thinking, innovative practice with an ethos that supports development of the whole team with the objective of developing a quality service for our patients that is sustainable for the future. We have a patient list size of 15 000 and have a main branch site that enables us to look at different models of care for our patients.

Currently we have three GP Partners who are supported by 3 salaried GPs, long term locums, 4 nurses and 2 HCAs. We also have a medicines management team supported by our pharmacist and large non-clinical team all with a desire to provide the best service we can.

We are part of SS9 South Primary Care Network with one of the clinical directors working for our Surgery. As part of the PCN we have an ECP service for our housebound patients. We also have social prescribers, Pharmacist team, health trainers and our own PACT service.

We are active in supporting doctors professional development and personal interests. We have excellent ties with our PRG, local town council, local businesses and schools.

Our CQC rating is Outstanding and we are consistently high QOF achievers.
