NHS Tayside is looking for an Advanced Practitioner for a new nursing team dedicated to pre- and post-surgical care across various specialties. This full-time Band 7 position requires advanced clinical knowledge and decision-making skills, with a focus on high-quality patient care within a multidisciplinary environment.

An opportunity has arisen for individuals to join a new nursing team and ward that will care for patients from a variety of specialties and conditions pre- and post-surgery. This ward will receive direct admissions for a wide range of specialties including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Plastics and Urology and will be open 5 days per week Monday to Friday.
This is a permanent Band 7 position, offering a rewarding opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced professional. The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday to cover the five days, providing a consistent and structured work pattern. Applicants must hold a minimum of a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Practice and be an independent prescriber.
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will deliver high-quality care and treatment within agreed protocols and clinical guidelines, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and decision-making skills. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary surgical team; the ANP role will encompass comprehensive patient assessment, diagnostic testing, treatment planning, post operative care and discharge planning.
In addition, you will be expected to use your expertise to make autonomous decisions outside standard frameworks when necessary, ensuring care is always guided by best practice.
