Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Liskeard is offering a fixed-term MIU Practitioner post (Band 6) covering maternity leave, with a 12-month term and part-time pattern. The MIU operates 8am-8pm and requires advanced practice in minor illness and paediatrics.

The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based assessment and treatment without supervision, manage care needs, and evaluate clinical interventions for patients attending the MIU.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification relevant to post.
• Current professional registration.
• Post graduate specialist training to degree level in minor illness.
• Substantial post registration practice in MIU, ED/Emergency Care or similar; education and training including mentorship.
• Ability to act calmly in emergencies and to respond in a professional manner.
• Confident in working autonomously and delivering high quality care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective assessment and treatment of patients without supervision using evidence-based approaches.
• Responsible for the care needs, management of treatment and evaluation of clinical interventions for MIU attendees.
• Responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care in the unit.
