A leading educational institution is seeking an Advanced Maths Practitioner to support Maths teachers and students in improving achievement for those resitting their GCSE exams. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Mathematics and a recognized teaching qualification, working across all sites to provide effective instructional support and interventions aimed at enhancing student outcomes in Maths. We are seeking an Advanced Maths Practitioner to support Maths teachers and students in improving achievement and attainment for students resitting their GCSE Maths exams across the Group.
This role involves delivering targeted interventions, providing high-quality instructional support, and developing strategies to help students improve their grades, with a focus on achieving high grades. You will collaborate closely with teachers to enhance the learning experience and outcomes for resit GCSE students.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent), or have significant experience teaching Mathematics at GCSE level. Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum, exam specifications, assessment criteria, and grading system (Grade 4 and above) is essential.
We seek someone passionate about improving student outcomes in Mathematics, experienced in supporting "at-risk" learners, delivering effective one-to-one or small-group tutoring and interventions. The candidate should be motivated, proactive, results-oriented, and proficient in using technology to support teaching and learning (e.g., interactive whiteboards, digital platforms, online resources). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to build rapport with students and staff.
This is a Group-wide post, requiring travel to and work from all STCG sites.
The successful candidate will be eligible for salary increases based on the annual cost of living review in the upcoming academic year.
