Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer to join a busy multi-disciplinary team. The post supports Echo as a chosen interest with BSE accreditation and preceptorship on completion.

The role will involve high‑specification cardiac ultrasound, stress echo and assisting transoesophageal procedures, with opportunities for line management and professional development within a large acute Trust in the North

Qualifications

Essential: Degree in Clinical Physiology or Healthcare science (or equivalent).
Essential: Qualified in accredited BSE courses.
Essential: RCCP registration.
Essential: At least 3 years post-qualification experience.
Able to independently perform cardiology investigations including Echocardiography.

Responsibilities

Independently perform a range of high-specialty diagnostic cardiology ultrasound including echocardiography and stress echo.
Perform echocardiography procedures and interpret complex results to produce diagnostic reports.
Explain procedures to patients and carers, ensuring privacy, dignity and informed consent.
Ensure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
Maintain stock levels and order equipment as required.
