Job summary

Ajm Healthcare’s Integrated Wheelchair Service is recruiting a qualified clinician for a part-time role delivering patient assessments and wheelchair prescriptions across the surrounding area.

You will manage a caseload of users with mobility, postural and pressure-relief needs, collaborate with clinical leads, and ensure excellent service across teams, while maintaining NHS standards and patient-centred care.

Qualifications

  • Required professional qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC registration is required.

Responsibilities

  • Hold, prioritise, plan and organise your own caseload of service users, some with complex needs.
  • Provide high quality assessment and prescription of wheelchairs, seating and related equipment.
  • Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines to promote best practice.
  • Provide advanced clinical advice to team members and lead in a specialism where appropriate.
  • Supervise rehabilitation staff and allocate work to assistants and technicians.
  • Plan training for internal staff and external professionals and coordinate multidisciplinary projects.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking to recruit a qualified, registered Clinician to join to join our brand new Integrated Wheelchair Service clinical team. You will be conducting assessments with our NHS Wheelchair users in various settings within the surrounding areas ensuring outstanding customer experience is maintained throughout. You will showcase an empathic and resilient approach when faced with challenging situations with the ability to work collaboratively with our customer service, logistics, and the wider clinical teams. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of patients with a range of permanent wheelchair mobility, postural, and pressure relief needs. You will ensure best practice is maintained throughout whilst receiving professional guidance from the Clinical and Service Leads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hold, prioritise, plan and organise your own caseload of service users, some of whom will have complex needs
  • Provide high quality, service user focused assessment and prescription of manual wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs, buggies and seating
  • Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promoting best practice and undertaking all aspects of clinical duties
  • Provide highly advanced clinical advice to other members of the team; may act as lead for a specialism
  • Possess h ighly developed expertise within the specialism of wheelchair services, underpinned by highly developed theoretical knowledge and experience
  • Supervise and allocate work to rehabilitation assistants, rehabilitation engineering technicians, and foundation level clinicians
  • Plan training sessions for internal staff and external healthcare professionals whilst co-ordinating a multi-disciplined team and manage projects when required.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a qualification within Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and hold HCPC (Healthcare Professional Council) registration. You must also hold a valid UK driving license with no more then 6 points on due to insurance purposes.
