Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Sutton and Chelsea is seeking a Band 8a Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Clinical Research within the GI and Lymphoma team. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to manage cancer research participants and lead complex clinical care in line with RMH strategies.

Responsibilities

• Be professionally and legally accountable for all work, practicing at an advanced level within national guidelines and RMH policies.
• Act as a key worker to patients with cancer, providing continuity throughout the patient journey.
• Perform health assessments including obtaining clinical history, conducting physical examinations and assessing psychological well-being.
• Counsel patients, explain the rationale for clinical trials and expectations for patients entering trials.
• Have knowledge of alternative non-trial treatments and facilitate informed consent.
• Consent patients to clinical trials, including non-CTIMP and selected CTIMP trials as delegated by the PI and trial sponsor.
• Possess knowledge of trial pharmacology, monitor drug interactions and contraindications, and assess inclusion/exclusion criteria.
• Review inclusion and exclusion criteria with principal and co-investigators to ensure eligibility for trials.
• Prescribe trial drugs and supportive medications as delegated, in accordance with protocols and RMH prescribing policy.
• Assess patients for treatment toxicities and grade according to CTCAE.
