Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Safeguarding Adult Practitioner to join the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Patient Team. You will provide expert safeguarding advice and support to clinical staff across the organisation, focusing on adult safeguarding, Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

You will work with multi‑agency partners to promote person‑centred safeguarding, Think Family principles and compassionate persistence, and contribute to safeguarding

Qualifications

• Active registration with the NMC or HCPC is essential.
• UK recognised Degree in a healthcare profession.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development through a portfolio and revalidation.
• Extensive experience in an acute clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide accessible specialist safeguarding advice and support to staff regarding adult safeguarding, Mental Capacity and DoLS.
• Support staff to identify and escalate safeguarding concerns.
• Promote Think Family, professional curiosity and compassionate persistence across clinical practice.
• Collaborate with safeguarding team and multi‑agency partners to inform practice and decision making.
• Contribute to safeguarding data, reviews and improvement activity.
• Support development of staff and participate in education and service development.
• Share information to protect adults at risk and improve safeguarding outcomes.
