A Qualified Social Worker is required, preferably on a full-time basis, to join Swansea Council's Adults with Learning Disabilities team. This role is based in the Guildhall, Swansea. The position is 37 hours per week with hybrid working options, including home, on-site, and face-to-face with clients. The role may also involve welfare and safeguarding visits. The pay rate is up to £38.43 per hour via Umbrella, dependent on experience, or the PAYE equivalent. This initial 3-month contract may be extended.
The Learning Disability teams work with Service Users and their families to maximize independence and opportunities, enabling service users to lead purposeful, meaningful, and fulfilled lives. Candidates must have experience working in learning disability teams, including assessment, care planning, person-centred planning, and care management. Competence in IT and meeting performance standards are essential. We seek an enthusiastic individual with a strong value base, committed to strength-based practice.
The candidate should work within the legislative framework (e.g., Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2015), demonstrating understanding of risk management and outcome-focused, strength-based working. Experience with WCCIS and local knowledge of Swansea are preferred.
