Qualified Adult Social Worker

Mental Wellbeing Team

Location: South Wales


Pay rate: £37 per hour


Our client is seeking qualified Adult Social Workers to join the Adult Services team within the Mental Wellbeing Team. In this role, you will uphold and champion best practices, managing a caseload of approximately 20 to 25 service users and their carers. You should be able to travel to the local authority and other counties as needed for assessments, reviews, and care plans. Competence in SSWBA and MCA is required, and knowledge of the Court of Protection process is preferred. You will work with adults experiencing mental health issues and within dementia services.


Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions regarding the most appropriate interventions. Your significant social work experience and excellent communication skills will help you establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.


You will be committed to achieving positive and sustainable outcomes through your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for individuals and their families, with a focus on protecting the most vulnerable and working efficiently.


Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
  • Experience in a Social Services Directorate or other statutory or voluntary agency
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement for the best outcomes
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with various client groups within an agency
  • Skilled in building relationships with children and families
  • Committed to high-quality service provision
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary, interagency settings
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • 4+ years qualified
Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes
