Pay rate: £38 per hour

We are looking for experienced and passionate Social Workers to join a dedicated Adult Services team focusing on Learning Disabilities. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of cases for which you are the named worker. Social Workers will intervene with legal and procedural authority to protect vulnerable people at risk of abuse or neglect; to help individuals, families, and groups to sustain and develop their capacities for independent living, and in complex situations, to prevent or resolve conflicts that may place individuals at risk.

This team collaborates with various professionals, including colleagues from the health board, therapies, external providers, and families. It is an exciting time to join adult social care, with friendly, experienced, and supportive colleagues committed to providing a service that centers citizens in our work.

In accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you’ll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

Perfect candidate will be:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with Adults and families, including those from vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for Adults.
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with Adults and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
  • Committed to providing high-quality services to our users.
  • Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
  • 4+ years qualified.
In this role you will:
  • Use your skills, knowledge, and experience to conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed caseload.
  • Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
  • Devise individual care plans, considering diversity, dignity, and empowerment.
  • Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to aid development.
