Job summary

Pulse Healthcare seeks a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join a Birmingham-based Autism Assessment Service on a locum basis. You will join a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality autism assessments for children and young people, including ADOS.

The role targets Band 6/7 SLTs with experience in autism assessment pathways and a flexible start date. The contract is available as full-time or part-time for an initial three-month period across Birmingham sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration is required.
• ADOS training with proven experience in autism assessments.
• Experience assessing children and young people for Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Complete autism assessments for children and young people as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Lead and contribute to diagnostic assessments using specialist clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice.
• Carry out Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) assessments as part of the diagnostic pathway.
• Work collaboratively with professionals across the MDT to support clinical decision-making.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards and service requirements.
• Provide specialist communication assessments to support autism diagnoses where appropriate.
